Esterified starch ( Paper )

#
Modified starch

Esterified is modified starch to be used for coating and surface sizing of paper. It is especially suitable for high quality paper.

It provides tough and flexible film on the paper, covering pores during surface sizing and also strongly binds with the fiber. The film created by Esterified starch has greater clarity, higher gloss, more flexibility and strength, hydrating ability and oil and grease resistance. It also allows moderate fluctuation in operating temperature without need to compensate for thicker or thinner flow.

It especially gives high bursting strength and improved surface properties compared to conventional oxidised starches and dextrins. It is also more stable and maintains constant viscosity over extended period as compared to normal starches.

It can be used for all types of papers and in some case can eliminate spray application, thus saving cost of coating if paper is to be coated subsequently.

Benefits

Below mentioned are some benefits of using Esterified starch

  • Increases bursting strength
  • Improves surface sizing with smooth surface
  • Provides excellent film
  • More stable and maintains constant viscosity over extended period
  • Less sensitive to temperature and humidity fluctuations
  • No splashing
  • Provides faster and complete dispersion
